Yoga For People has generously started organizing weekly yoga classes at our midvale shelter. The yoga Instructors have given their time and expertise to bring the experience of yoga to the shelter residents. It has been a very unique activity for the residents and an opportunity for them to learn and participate in something new. Residents of all ages, from kids to adults, have taken great intrest in it.The Road Home,, Community Shelter
“Yoga For People was fantastic with the deaf and hard of hearing participants during the time. Teachers gentleness had impressed them to the point that they were able to do their best at comfortable level. The interpreting services were available for both the teacher and the students with hearing loss during the whole time.”Eleanor 'Eli' McCowan, Community Center of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
“Yoga for People has given our client’s access to Yoga and meditation that would be impossible for them to experience otherwise. The residents at Sunrise are formerly chronically homeless individuals, many with severe health conditions. Yoga for people has allowed them to experience the practice of Yoga in a safe, nurturing way. The instructors are flexible in their approach to working with different abilities and preferences. I have participated in each class, the adaptability, respect and empathy from the instructors is remarkable. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Yoga for People, “Making Yoga accessible to everyone”.“Marni' McCowan, Sunrise Metro, Permanent Supportive Housing Facility
